Event WiFi and temporary internet for Parramatta and Western Sydney

Western Sydney jobs tend to be big: industrial sheds, distribution floors, construction compounds and park festivals spread over a lot of ground. Coverage, heat and the lack of an existing line shape most plans.

Quick answer

For event WiFi and temporary internet in Parramatta and Western Sydney, the deciding factors are usually size and construction. Large steel sheds need access points planned for coverage first, construction sites and new buildings often have no line yet, and park festivals need payments kept off congested mobile networks. Our Sydney-based team surveys the site, arranges the connection, installs WiFi and CCTV together where needed, and packs down.

Where Western Sydney event and site networks happen

The region runs from the Parramatta and Westmead office towers out to Penrith, and from Castle Hill and Norwest down through Blacktown, Fairfield and Liverpool to Campbelltown. Much of the temporary-network work sits in the industrial estates around Wetherill Park, Smithfield, Eastern Creek, Erskine Park and Moorebank: warehouses changing hands, fit-outs, stock events and project offices.

Then there are the people events: community and cultural festivals in parks and showgrounds, and conferences and training days in Parramatta's commercial buildings. These sites rarely have the internet capacity a crowd needs, and distances between them mean we plan travel time into every install window.

How many access points a Western Sydney shed needs

Our planning assumption is roughly one access point per 900 m² of open floor. Racking, internal walls and mezzanine offices add more, so treat these as minimums.

Open floor areaStarting pointWhat usually adds more
1,500 m²2 access pointsA mezzanine office or a cool room
3,000 m²4 access pointsFull-height racking down the aisles
5,000 m²6 access pointsUpstairs offices and dock doors
10,000 m²12 access pointsSteel partitions and the loading yard

Capacity is checked separately at about 50 devices per access point. In big sheds with few people, coverage almost always decides the count.

Western Sydney sites we set up networks for

Warehouses and distribution floors

Mesh nodes for fast setup or cabled access points for heavy scanner use. Our 5,000 m² warehouse case study used six tri-band mesh nodes.

Construction compounds

Site sheds with no line on day one. A 4G/5G router gets plans and email moving; see construction site internet for the longer setup.

Park and showground festivals

EFTPOS and ticketing first, on their own network, because mobile data slows when the crowd arrives. Guest WiFi only if the budget allows.

Training rooms and project offices

Parramatta and Norwest offices where everyone logs in at once. Wired ports for presenters and capacity sized for the whole room.

Network and CCTV together on Western Sydney sites

Vacant warehouses, building sites and stock held in temporary premises often need cameras as much as WiFi. We install both in the same visit: CCTV cameras and recording equipment on their own part of the network, PoE ports reserved on the switch, and camera traffic kept away from staff devices. See network and CCTV packages for what a combined plan covers.

Questions people ask

Do you provide event WiFi in Parramatta?

Yes. Parramatta and the rest of Western Sydney are local work for our Sydney-based team, so we can walk the site before planning. We cover function rooms and offices in the Parramatta CBD as well as warehouses, construction sites and outdoor events further west, out to Penrith and Campbelltown.

How do you get WiFi across a large warehouse in Western Sydney?

Large warehouses need access points planned for coverage first, at roughly one per 900 m² of open floor as a starting point, with more for racking, steel partitions and mezzanine offices. Depending on how the space will be used, we use tri-band mesh nodes for fast setup or cabled PoE access points for heavier scanner and device loads.

Can a construction site in Western Sydney get temporary internet before the NBN is connected?

Usually. A 4G/5G router can get a construction site office online while a fixed-line service is arranged, as long as mobile coverage at the shed is reasonable. When the fixed line is activated, we switch the site over and can keep the mobile router as a backup if you want one.

What internet do community festivals in Western Sydney parks need?

Community festivals in Western Sydney parks rarely have a fixed line, so the connection is usually 4G/5G, checked at the actual site. Payments and ticketing get their own network first, because mobile data slows when crowds gather. Guest WiFi comes after that, sized to the budget, and power positions are agreed with the organiser.

Can you install security cameras at a vacant warehouse?

Yes. For vacant or temporary warehouses we can install CCTV cameras with recording equipment on the same network as the site WiFi, on their own VLAN and powered over Ethernet. Camera placement, recording and how you view the footage are agreed in your plan before the install.
