Event WiFi questions
What is event WiFi hire?
Event WiFi hire is a temporary internet connection and WiFi network set up for an event or temporary site, then removed afterwards. A complete hire covers the connection, equipment, design for the headcount and space, separate networks for staff, guests and payments, installation, support and pack-down.
How much internet does an event need?
Add up what runs at the busiest moment: about 0.5 Mbps per active device for browsing, about 1.5 Mbps per person on a video call, and 10 to 20 Mbps of steady upload for each live stream, then add headroom. Upload usually decides the plan for streaming, media and production. The bandwidth calculator does the sum for you.
How many WiFi access points do I need?
A common starting point is about 50 devices per access point. Working people carry 1.5 to 2 devices each, so 100 staff means 150 to 200 devices and three to four access points. Large, walled or steel-framed spaces need more for coverage; our 5,000 m² warehouse used six mesh nodes.
Do you work outside Sydney?
Yes. EventWiFi is based in Sydney and takes on projects across Australia. For interstate events we plan the network with you first, configure and test equipment before we travel, then install on site.
How much does event WiFi cost?
Event WiFi is quoted per site after a survey or floor-plan review, because duration, headcount, space, the connection, equipment, cabling and support level all change the job. We do not publish a price list; ask and we will walk you through a comparable project.
Who operates EventWiFi?
EventWiFi is operated by SydneyITFix, trading as Sydney WiFi and Computer Repair Center, a Sydney IT and network services business rated 5.0 on Google. The team works in English and Mandarin.
